Vacation Bible School 2017

This year’s Vacation Bible School took place the week of 8/14.  We had a wonderful group of 70 children, ages 3-10 (and a few younger ones, too!) – our largest group to date!  This year’s theme was, ‘Hero Central’, "Do good, seek peace and go after it!"

The children embarked on a weeklong journey through the books of 1st Samuel, Luke, Matthew and Acts and learned that God’s Heroes Have Heart, Courage, Wisdom, Hope and Power.  There were Bible stories, creative crafts, exciting games, tasty snacks, and lots of wonderful singing.

In addition to the children learning about God’s amazing love, they also showed how much they cared about the less fortunate.  Specifically, the Armenian children refugees who have immigrated from Syria to Canada.  Our sister church, First Armenian Evangelical church in Montreal, Quebec, is helping these children with food, housing, and taking them to school.  This year we will send the VBS collection money to this church to help the refugee children with their back to school expenses.  $610.00 was raised!
